Optician clinic cleaning

For over three decades, Cleaning Technique have provided cleaning services to healthcare settings. This has enabled us to build experience and a wealth of knowledge in CQC (Care Quality Commission) compliant cleaning, in order to meet the regulations and requirements set out for health and social care. Opticians are not required to register with CQC. However, the Association of Optometrists and the General Optical Council both advocate the principle that each optician’s practice should have robust methods of cleaning and infection control measures.

The Clients Brief

Chapmans Opticians are a family-owned business like ourselves, they are independent opticians that provide eye and hearing care to communities in six different locations across the West Midlands. They got in touch with us to review their cleaning requirements at their Bromsgrove branch in the Autumn of 2023, so they could focus on providing effective eye and hearing care in a hygienic environment.

How Cleaning Technique helped

Sean met with the Manager David to gain insight into this particular optician’s cleaning needs and drew up a stringent schedule of work to fulfil all their requirements. The shop is over two floors, with the main shop area and treatment room on the ground floor, with an office, staff kitchen and toilet facilities on the first floor. A site-specific risk assessment was then carried out.

A suitable operative was recruited, ensuring references were in place, our cleaning operative then received training to implement the detailed schedule, alongside a checklist to ensure the schedule was adhered to.

Our operative’s work is then monitored to ensure the provision of a high standard of cleaning service. If there is a need for periodic deep cleaning of hard floors, carpet or upholstery, then the manager and his team are reassured of our ability to carry these additional services out to an equally high standard.

The Client Experience

Chapmans Opticians have reassurance that the cleaning requirements are managed by us and the operative has the experience, training and PPE to facilitate robust infection control measures, allowing their team to concentrate on the sensory health of their customers, who now receive a clean and reassuring welcome.

‘Can I say what an amazing job your operative is doing, the standard is much improved, long may it continue. A big thank you’
